Creative Process

In designing the assets for the game demo, I went with the choice of using tools from my home kitchen mixed with sounds from my sound library. The decision to blend the to way my way of creating a more organic feel to the sounds while keeping them grounded for believability. I wanted everything to sound like it belonged without throwing off the gameplay.

To give you some perspective on the audio assets above, here are some brief descriptions for your consideration:

Engine - This sound was created from a recording of a refrigerator and a layered pre-recorded sound effect

Vaporizer - This sound was created from a recording of a microwave bell time-stretched and a layered pre-recorded sound effect

The Planets - Both were pre-recorded sound effects and hum from a fan with some reverb

The Monsters (Barnaby and Fnoon) - Pre-recorded cats and dogs treated

Teleport In and Out - Pre-recorded sound effects with a layer of room noise played forward and backward
